Praised as one of the best DJs in the world, J.Rocc began his journey as a DJ at a very young age. His love for music led him to create a crew of the finest DJs and turntablists. He founded the World Famous Beat Junkies, in 1992. Nicknamed "The Funky President," he is often hailed as one of the most respected DJs in the world.
J.Rocc is signed to the independent record label, Stones Throw Records. He has released 3 full-length projects, "Cold Rock Stuf" , “Beatitudes” & "Beats on Tap(e)" plus several projects on Ultra-Vybe from Japan. In addition he has been commissioned to make mixtapes for record labels such as Rawkus, Blue Note, Jazzman, Salsoul vs. Westend, Big Crown and the clothing brand Supreme.
Known for incorporating a range of genres of music from hip-hop, house, funk, disco to Brazilian samba, with his signature style on the decks. J.Rocc's turntable skills have been used for "Dr. Dre's The Pharmacy" radio show on Apple Music /Beats 1. He can also be heard on tracks from Madlib, Pete Rock, Alchemist, Common, Vince Staples, Egyptian Lover, Sylvan Esso and the late great J Dilla.
